Thomas Spencer “Tom” Smith of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at Crestview Nursing Home with his family by his side.
Tom was born on December 24, 1929 in Johnson City, Tenn. But spent his early years in Williamson, West Virginia. He was married to Mary Nikolich (NicK) on December 7, 1950. He was a retired pharmaceutical representative in the Louisville and Eastern Kentucky area for over 25 years. He was a fun-loving, generous, and loyal man who loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dola Dellinger Smith, his son, David Keith Smith USN, brothers, Charles Edward Smith and Harry Ray Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith, two sons, Gregory Smith and Michael (Kim) Smith, a daughter, Nikki L. (Denny) Bailey, sister, Barbara (Chet) Allen, seven grandchildren, Aimee L.(Jamie) Perry, Roy T. Bailey, Samantha M. Smith, John D. Smith, Mary E. Smith, Olivia K. Smith, and Sophia C. Smith, two great grandchildren, Ryan Spencer Perry and Nikolas Steven Perry, sister in law, Norma Smith along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 beginning at 2 to 9 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Nikki Bailey.
