Dorothy Glass Schmidt Lowe Levey of Frankfort, KY and the widow of Martin Schmidt, Newton Lowe, and Edwin Levey, passed away June 8, 2010. She was born in Georgetown, KY on October 1, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Wilbur D. and Lucille Sechrest Glass.

She was a graduate of the Great Crossing High School, member of the First Christian Church in Frankfort, and of the National Hairdressers & Cosmetician Assoc., former manager of the Bluebird Beauty Salon of Georgetown, consultant for Roux Hair Coloring Company, and a graduate of the Rich Lee Beauty Academy. She maintained residence at one time in Rochester, NY and Ypsilanti, MI, and was a former manager of the Preston Beauty Academy. She was a member of the Senior Friends of Frankfort, the Frankfort Senior Citizens, the Capital Steppers Line Dance Club, Frankfort, former manager of the Beauty Salon at Jacobson’s in Ann Arbor, MI. While she lived in FL she was a competitor and very active in Ballroom Dancing.

She is survived by a grandson, David Martin Rose of Georgetown; nephews, Michael Wood and Rodney Wood; great nephews, Christopher Wood and Robert Wood all of Frankfort; and great great niece Olivia Wood. She was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Schmidt Rose and sister, Betty Glass Wood.

Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, June 14, 2010 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. John Opsata officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4pm Sunday, June 13th at the funeral home.
