Helen M. Boden, 79, wife of Edward Boden for 54 years, passed away June 11, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital. She was born December 6, 1930 in Lincoln County, KY to the late Randolph and Pearl Nelson Poynter.

Along with her husband she is survived by sons, Eddie (Karen) Boden and Terry Boden both of Georgetown; step-grandson, James Glass; and sister, Delores Jett of Englewood, FL. She was preceded in death by a sister Frances Love.

She was a Kentucky Colonel, attended Georgetown College,was a charter member of Mallard Point Baptist Church, a volunteer at the AMEN House and Habitat for Humanity. She received the Jack Stith Award for 40 years of volunteer work at Eastern State Hospital, most years for volunteer service. She taught Sunday School for 45 years, many of those years at Gano Avenue Baptist Church. She was the children’s leader at Oneida Baptist Institute, and taught at Magoffin Baptist Institute, but most important to her was to take care of her husband and sons.

The family invites the public to a graveside service at 7:00 pm Monday, June 14, 2010 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. A Life Celebration service will be held 3pm July 11, 2010 at Mallard Point Baptist Church 3580 Cincinnati Rd, Georgetown, KY.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Scott County Habitat for Humanity 122 B Frazier Ct., Georgetown, KY 40324 or Hospice of the Bluegrass 1317 US HWY 62E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
