Gracie Willhoite, 77, widow of Robert E. “Bobby” Willhoite, passed away June 23, 2010. She was born July 5, 1932 in Scott Co. to the late John McClanahan and Ann Jones McClanahan Wood. She was a charter member and active in establishing Northside Christian Church. She was active in Morning Glories Homemakers, and held all offices except President. She sang in the Ladies Trio for 25 years, organized and served as first treasurer of Meals on Wheels, was a former head of the Scott Co. Red Cross, former Brownie leader, she was a former employee of the Scott Co. Public Library, a former president of Friends of the Library, an area chairman of Issues and Concerns on Child Restraints, an assistant pool manager at Suffoletta Pool, a treasurer for Willhoite Tool Co., and she wrote an article for the newspaper about the Senior League Ball.

She is survived by children, Terry (Becky) Willhoite and Pete (Cathy) Willhoite both of Georgetown, Tanya (Wayne) Holcomb of Lexington and Suzanne (Don) Odom of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Tommy (Jessica) Greathouse, Jason Willhoite, Aaron Willhoite, Joseph (Kim) Greathouse, Megan (Matthew) Reichert, Heather (Kevin) Cooper, Sarah (Ryan) Blackerby, Lindsay Baker, and Jessica (Brandon) Blackerby; seventeen great grandchildren; brother, Johnny McClanahan and sister, Mattie Thompson both of Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Willhoite; grandson, Robert T.S. Willhoite II; brothers, William McClanahan and Joe McClanahan.

Funeral services are 11am, June 28, 2010 at Northside Christian Church with Pastor Scott Coburn and Pastor Tommy Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers being grandsons, grandsons-in-law, and Tony Chamblin. Visitation will be 3-8pm Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robert Willhoite Memorial Fund, c/o Northside Christian Church, P.O. Box 1344, Georgetown, KY 40324. Tucker, Yocum, Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
