Robert “Bob” James Warring Jr., 81, passed away July 16, 2010 at his home. He was born November 11, 1928 in Biddle, Kentucky to the late Robert James and Nancy Elizabeth Vance Warring, Sr.
He worked in Agriculture Sales for Kaiser Agricultural Chemical Company, was employed by the United States Postal Service, and throughout his life worked as a farmer. He was a graduate of Garth High School, a high school All State Football Courier Journal selection, 1947 State Champion in the 8-80 yard dash. He attended Georgetown College, was a member of Great Crossing Baptist Church, and was a former Commissioner for the Scott County Fiscal Court for 8 years.
He is survived by his son, Robert T. Warring, Sr. (Suellyn) of Georgetown; daughter, Jane Warring of Versailles; grandchildren, Robert T. Warring, Jr., Morgan Warring, Spencer Warring, and special baby Hunter Sage Warring; sister, Rebecca Warring Sams of Stamping Ground; niece and nephews, Karen Boehm, Jonathan Sams, and Matthew Sams, numerous cousins, special friends, and Ann Thomas his wife for 41 years and the mother of his children.
Memorial services are 7pm Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Ron Vance officiating. Visitation will be 4pm until time of service Tuesday. Burial will be 10am Wednesday at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary bearers are Glen Williams, Martin Congleton, Ollie Covington, Ron Vance, Sam Ward, George Lusby, Charlie Humphries, Chuck Tackett and Bobby Kenley.
