Leon L. “Junior” Hamilton, 62, husband of Barbara Lay Hamilton, passed away July 27, 2010. He was born April 27, 1948 in Fayette County, KY to the late Leon L. “Button” Hamilton Sr. and Mildred Griggs Hamilton.

He was an employee of the United States Postal Service in Georgetown, a very active member at Central Church of God, and a Vietnam Army Veteran.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughters, Missie Kay (Brian) Hickey and Tammy Ann (Greg) Howard both of Georgetown; grandchildren, Logan Hamilton Hickey, Nickolas Kent Hickey, Andrew Lay Hickey, Lucas Landrum Howard, Jessica Hope Howard, and Wesley Gerald Howard; brother, Robert W. “Bobby” Hamilton of Georgetown.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Central Church of God, 700 Clayton Avenue, Georgetown with Bro. Sam Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers being Mike Hamilton, Paul Duncan, Brian Hickey, Greg Howard, Logan Hickey, and Tom Caudill. Honorary bearers are Harold Hamilton, Howard “Poke” Hamilton, Ray Gillispie, Chester Lay, Bobby Hamilton, and Wanda June Sloane. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home.
