Ray Wright, 83, widower of Carol Jean Sturgeon Wright, passed away July 29, 2010. He was born April 3, 1927 in Stamping Ground, KY to the late Tom and Ora Mae Dickie Wright.

He was a Korean War Army Veteran, a farmer, and he worked 40 years as a school bus driver for the Scott County School System. He was a Deacon and member of Minorsville Christian Church, a member of the Optimist Club and was awarded Kentucky School Bus Driver of the Year.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rae Jean and Robby Dunn of Georgetown; grandchildren, Eric Adams (U.S. Air Force), Tyler Adams, and Raegyn Dunn; brothers, Orlie B. Wright Sr. and Armel T. Wright both of Stamping Ground; nieces and nephew, Faye Hart, Paula Anderson and Jr. Wright. He was preceded in death by nephew Charlie Wright.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery with casket bearers being Eric Adams, Tyler Adams, Tom Wright, Jerry Wright, Orlie B. Wright Jr., Rob Aavatsmark, Greg Adkins, and Pat Parker. Honorary bearers are Lloyd Luttrell, Sammy Noe, Buzz Wise, Bobby Hoover, Leighton Johnson, Scott Hoffman, Craig Hastings, Danny Purcell, Garry Hoffman, and James Cook. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
