Matthew Allen Herrington, 21, passed away July 29, 2010 in Harrison County, Kentucky. He was born August 3, 1988 in Lexington, Kentucky to Terry Herrington and Barbara Wright both of Georgetown.

He was an employee of Kroger in Georgetown, an avid gamer, a member of Northside Christian Church, F.O.P.A and the Safety team at Kroger. He was a 2007 Scott County High School graduate where he was a member of the football team, and a 2009 graduate of ITT Tech, where he majored in Computer Engineering.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his step mother, Amy King Herrington of Georgetown; girlfriend, Melody Ann Cameron of Georgetown; daughter on the way, Mattie Elizabeth Marie Herrington; brother and sister in law, Terry Alan and Shawna Herrington II of Georgetown; sister, Amber Herrington of Georgetown; step sisters, Sara Wheeler, Jessica Wheeler, and Lauren Wheeler all of Georgetown; maternal grandparents, Fay and Allen Wright of Stamping Ground; paternal grandparents, William Matthew “Buddy” and Jane Lee Herrington of Georgetown; great grandmother, Mary Margaret Perkins of Cynthiana; step grandparents, David and Jane Lee King of Georgetown; step great grandmother, Libby Skinner of Cynthiana; uncle and aunts, Steve Wright, Christy Herrington Clinch (Patrick) and Robin Ann Herrington Mullikin all of Georgetown; step aunt and uncle, Leigh and Scott Reed, cousins, Sarah Wright, Brian Wright, Nathan Mullikin, Aaron Mullikin, and Trinity Clinch, step cousins Tucker Reed, Jordan Reed, and Reese Reed.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Elam officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers Jamie Glass, Jacob McGlothen, Cody Andrews, Sean Perry, Todd Stone, Nathan Mullikin, Aaron Mullikin, and Brian Wright. Honorary bearer is Bryan Bragg. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
