Lacy O. Wilson, 68, Shelbyville, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her home. A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Jackson Wilson and Elmore A. Wilson, Sr.
She was a long-time employee of Union Underwear Company in Frankfort, where she worked as a garment inspector. She also cared for children. She was a deaconess and life-long member of the Church of God of America, where she also served as nurse, deacon, Sunday School Teacher, building caretaker and spiritual advisor. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gospel music, traveling, working crossword puzzles and working seek and find puzzles.
In addition to her parents, one brother, Rev. Elmore A. Wilson, Jr. and one infant sister, Iona Hunter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include nine brothers and sisters, Sylvia E. (Thomas) Marshall, Emily A. Wilson, Sherman E. Wilson and Gregory (Marla) Hunter, all of Shelbyville, Barbara L. Wilson and Mary E. (Leon) Benson, both of Louisville, Brenda J. Wilson of Frankfort, Evangelist Bernice M. (Elder Eric) Barnes of Somerset and Lucian (Kimberly) Hunter of Simpsonville; one sister-in-law, Danna Jones Wilson of Louisville and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Clay Street Baptist Church. The Wake is 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Church of God of America, 600 Bradshaw Street in Shelbyville. Elder Eric Barnes and Eric Justin Barnes will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
